This blog is devoted to tough issues surrounding the Christian faith. So my invitation is this: Bring your questions, comments and problems and praises, no holds barred, and we'll explore them. I don't know it all, but I'll do my best to answer or at least point in the right direction. All I ask is that we keep it civil.

Most people are only christians becasue tehy've been told that if they don't believe in jesus, the red suited devil will come out and poke them with his pitchfork and throw them in a firey lake.Turn or burn! we're told that we are bad and made to feel guilty. This is fear factor faith, that's why I wrote off church.
ReplyDelete2 Corinthians 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a defensive verse to quote, but I'd prefer not to argue with anyone. Sometimes this is not possible, and at those times, I turn to the text for encouragement. I do not wish to invite battles, but when they come, I rest in the knowledge that God is bigger and badder than the best that humans and our philosophy could ever muster. God is simply not threatened by anyone or anything, and neither should his people be.
